What’s the Best Bridal Dress for the Wedding Dance?

The best Bridal Dress for the Wedding Dance is one that does not create a “trip hazard” for either the Bride or the Groom.

You’re wearing your beautiful, flowing wedding dress and dancing your Wedding Dance. However, what if it has a long, flowing train that’s NOT bustled-up for your special dance? This is a very important consideration as the well-intending Groom will do everything needed to avoid stepping on your very special dress. From this, your very special, romantic dance will be more of an “obstacle course” for him than an intimate Wedding Dance for two.

It’s so, so important to ensure a Bride’s wedding dress train is bustled completely off the ground. The train can be bustled preferably to her lower back or otherwise into her right hand (and NOT her left hand due to the closed-frame dance position).

It’s equally important that if a Bride is wearing healed shoes, that these heals do not get caught within the internal lining of the dress. Too often (as a Wedding Celebrant, MC & DJ), I’ve seen well-meaning Brides needing to make quick adjustments to their dress on the night of their wedding. These adjustments are to prevent the Bride’s healed shoes from becoming caught within the internal lining of he dress, particularly when she’s dancing backward-moving dance steps.
