Should You Schedule a Final Practice at Your Wedding?

A final practice of your Wedding Dance should be scheduled into your wedding event.

Your Wedding Day will a wonderful day, a long day and a day full of emotions. Then, during all of this, someone invites you to have your Wedding Dance together whilst being videoed by family and friends! WOW! There’s so much happening!

For this reason, having attended hundreds of weddings as a Celebrant, MC & DJ, I encourages my Wedding Dance couples to schedule a final dance practice at their wedding. If the Wedding Dance is to happen immediately upon the couple entering the Reception, the practice can occur when they’re away from (almost) everyone getting outdoor photos taken, If the Wedding Dance is to happen as the formalities conclude, the practice can occur 10min prior and in a quiet area of the venue (e.g. spare room, remote corridor, vacant deck, etc).

A Wedding Day is often so full of emotions. So, it’s very important for the Wedding Couple take some time-out, refresh their dance steps and regain focus on their routine. Remember, it’s called the, “First Dance” i.e. there’s no take-two’s but there is the opportunity to plan ahead to feel confident and incredible with your special dance.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask me during your fun private dance lessons in the Let’s Dance wedding dance studio.
