When to Start Your Private Dance Lessons?

Learning how to dance is a little similar to learning other muscle-memory activities like golf, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, martial arts, etc. All of these activities take time to learn. Add to this, a Wedding Dance involves two people each learning their respective dance steps, learning to dance with each other and together dancing to a routine customised to their chosen Wedding Dance Song. Again, this takes time and guided practice.

Additionally, their are some off the dance floor considerations. Does either the Bride or Groom need to frequently travel? Are the Bride and Groom “passing ships” i.e. not often seeing each other due to scattered work hours? Additionally, what if either the Bride or Groom sadly incur an injury (e.g. sprained ankle) meaning a temporary suspension of the dance lessons?

Lastly, the final one to two weeks prior to the Wedding Day of most couples can be a bit hectic. The interstate and overseas friends and family suddenly arrive plus many last minute, unexpected tasks can suddenly arise despite the best of planning for years prior.

It’s for all of the above, I generally recommend a wedding couple should start their Wedding Dance lessons about six months prior to their Wedding Day (if possible). Let’s Dance always provides a casual pay-as-you-go arrangement meaning no matter how early you start, you’re always in control of your budget. Easy!
